Liverpool will look to extend its lead atop the Premier League when it takes on Southampton on Saturday.

Liverpool currently sits at No. 1 in the Premier League with 10 points in four matches. The team opened its season with a 1-0 win over Stoke City followed by two straight 1-0 wins over Aston Villa and Manchester United. In its most recent match, the team drew 2-2 against Swansea City.

The team is currently undergoing an injury bug with such key players as Daniel Agger, Coutinho, Glen Johnsson, and Kolo Toure. Coach Brendan Rodgers was positive Agger would return, despite suffering a rib accident due to an accident during a training session.

"We'll see how Daniel is in the next 24 hours. It's too early to say if he'll be ready for the weekend or not. It was just unfortunate that it happened the day before the game. But we're hopeful he'll be fine for the weekend," said Rodgers, according to ESPN.

Liverpool will face a Southampton side that is looking to break a three game winless streak in the Premier League. After winning 1-0 in its opener against West Bromwich Albion, the team drew 1-1 with Sunderland before losing 1-0 against Norwich City. In its most recent game, Southampton battled to a scoreless draw against West Ham United.

Prediction: Liverpool is the top team in the league and knows that it must keep winning to keep pace. Expect a 1-0 win from Liverpool.
