In the final weeks before Drake drops his junior album, Nothing Was the Same, the singer/rapper has stayed busy promoting the hell out of himself. Although it may look like his ego is pouring out his every orifice, we do know he enjoys singing about his accomplishments, his promotional tactics have helped fuel what’s arguably the most anticipated album of the year. And now the hour is upon us. Nothing Was the Same hits stores on Tuesday. The king, whether you like it or not, is back.
Of course, any major album should come with its own follow up tour. Originally, Drake’s “Would You Like a Tour” tour was set to kick off September 25, but now “due to an intense rehearsal schedule and technical production requirements that will be part of the show" it's been pushed back, according to a press release. Instead, the tour will launch October 18 in Pittsburgh.
In his most promotional tactic, Drake made a rather appearance on the “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” DeGeneres invited Drake to sit down for a nice chat, but then things took an interesting. DeGeneres proved her amazingness by surprising him with a dating game, a game more amusing for viewers than Drake. DeGeneres flashed huge images of women Drake’s been linked to, including Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Kat Dennings, asking Drake to play along and provide details on each past relationship. Classic Ellen.
Drake’s takeover has begun. Get used to it.
