Jack Swagger missed last week's WWE's TV tapings in Canada due to his recent marijuana possession indictment. The WWE wrote out Jack Swagger out the show explaining that he was too American to go to Canada for the show.
CM Punk is expected to be at the Monday Night Raw broadcasting from his hometown of Chicago. Punk is expected to take some time off being that he is working through knee and ankle injuries. The Ryback attack at Night of Champions was done partly to write him off the show while he recovers.
Mark Henry is due to return soon, possible as soon as the upcoming Monday Night Raw. Rey Mysterio is also expected to return soon. Rumor has it that Ricardo Rodriguez will manage Mysterio while Rob van Dam takes his contract-stipulated break after the Battleground and Hell In A Cell pay-per-views, which allows for time off every 90 days.
The WWE has re-hired Nick Dinsmore, known to wrestling fans as "Eugene." Dinsmore will be work as a trainer at the new WWE Performance Center in Orlando. The WWE also made cuts in their developmental program releasing Jesse White (son of former WWE star and former heavyweight title holder at WCW, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and All Pro Japan Wrestling Big Van Vader), Luther Ward (wrestled in Europe under the name OMEN), and Malik Omari.
Jim Ross discussed his reasons behind leaving the WWE on the MMA Hour's podcast. "When you say 'mutual' it means partially to somebody that you've been forced out the door or been treated poorly or what have you, which really wasn't the case," said Ross to the MMA Hour host Ariel Helwani. "It was something that we had talked about kind of casually and it just seemed like with the lay of the land, it was good timing."
