One "Grey's Anatomy" character will have more than just the storm to contend with.
Alex's (Justin Chambers) estranged dad will be paying him a visit in the upcoming season, who will be played by "Dexter" actor James Remar. According to TVGuide, it's not surprising that his father is estranged. Alex's father illuminates why Alex's family has had their share of troubles, such as when Alex's brother tried to kill their younger sister.
James Remar shared an inside scoop with TVGuide about his "Grey's" character. "He's not a guy who's been living a very wholesome life," Remar said. "He's a drug addict and really on the skids. Their reunion is charged and difficult."
Remar will be introduced as Alex's father for a brief arc early on in season 10.
On top of that, Alex and the rest of the staff be forced to deal with the major storm that is hitting Seattle. According to TVLine, the "Grey's" season premiere promo shows a dark beginning to the season as the storm wreaks havoc on the city. In the season premiere, Cristina (Sandra Oh) will lay down the law to Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) saying these words: "Time of death, 15:56."
Fans can only speculate as to who dies in the electrifying season opener.
Season 10 also promises to feature more developments from the Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Sarah Drew) situation. Last season, April made a heartfelt confession to Jackson, but he was not impressed.
Showrunner Shonda Rhimes told TVLine thatJackson is still hurt over April leaving him. "He's [Jackson] been very patient, and she's the one who sort of walked away from him. And when the finale happened, he was feeling kind of 'done,' so her declaration is definitely going to have interesting repercussions," Rhimes said. "She's engaged to somebody else, and he's with somebody else, and it's not as if either of them is behaving, I would say, in the most mature manner. They've definitely got challenging times ahead."
One pair that will definitely be romantically involved is Alex and Jo (Camilla Luddington).
Luddington shared her thoughts about the relationship at the Television Critics Association Awards. "They are going to be exploring their relationship this season," Luddington said. "I don't trust 'Grey's' make it all go perfectly, but I do know they are crazy about each other and in love."
A big change next season will be the exit of Sandra Oh, who plays Dr. Cristina Yang. Yang has had a complicated relationship with Dr. Owen Hunt (McKidd). Now that Yang's character will be making a permanent exit, fans are hoping for Hunt to finally have a successful relationship.
Patrick Dempsey may also be considering leaving his "McDreamy" character behind, the Huffington Post reports. "I think it depends on renegotiations, quite honestly," Dempsey admitted to David Letterman on "The Late Show". "I could stay, I may go, who knows."
