Have the HTC One Max's specs been confirmed? One of the most anticipated devices of 2013, a new leak purportedly shows the new phablet next to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Note 2, seemingly corroborating many of the HTC One Max's rumored specs, including the size of the display and more.
The leak comes from the Chinese website Weibo, via GSMArena, as well as the Dutch website Sim Only Radar. The photos show the yet-to-be-released device against the two devices that many consider to be the HTC One Max's chief rivals. The leak seems to confirm that the display for the HTC One Max will be 5.9 inches, as it is slightly bigger than the display for the Galaxy Note 3, which is 5.7 inches. The photos also show that the display looks bigger due to the BoomSound speakers adding to the size of the phablet, making it even bigger compared to the Galaxy Note 3 and 2. This means that the HTC One Max may be too large for some users, but for those looking for a bigger screen, may want to check out the HTC One Max.
The device's chipset is also seemingly confirmed by the photos, indicating that the device will be very similar to the original HTC One. The benchmark for the device on the photos is an AnTuTu 4 with a 2600 score, suggesting that the device will have a Snapdragon 600 chipset.
The leaks also show that the device will have 4G connectivity, and also will have a removable back cover. However, the battery is sealed into the device, so it is impossible to confirm what sort of battery will power the phablet. The device only shows one microSD slot on the device, indicating that this device is not the same model shown in previous leak for the HTC One Max, which had the model number HTC 8088, and is assumed to be the Chinese model of the HTC One Max. That model had dual sim card slots, but this newly leaked model does not, so it may be the international release version of the device.
The HTC One Max does not have a release date yet, but sources seem to indicate that the device will launch sometime in October. Until HTC makes an official announcement these leaks will have to do for showing off the specs and abilities of the HTC One Max.
