Eminem has a lot to be thankful for. He made it out of the Detroit neighborhood he grew up in to the big lights of showbiz, had made it through a tumultuous relationship prompting songs about killing his ex-wife, and has survived a deadly addiction to drugs. Not only that, Eminem recently became the most liked human being on Facebook, and he showed his gratitude for his success and fame by thanking his fans at a concert on Thursday night for the watch brand G-Shock.

At the Thursday-night concert, the rapper said that he "wouldn't have gotten out of that dark place without y'all," referring to his battle against drugs. His struggle and addiction is the crux of 2010's best-selling album, "Recovery."

Eminem might have first gained fame and notoriety in the 1990's, but the 39-year-old rapper is still just as relevant today as he was when he first stepped into the public's eye. More than 60 million people "Liked" Eminem's Facebook page, the most of any human being on the planet. He passed Lady Gaga's 53 million last summer, and is above Rihanna's 59 million "Likes."

This means that one in 16 people on Facebook like Eminem, and according to CNET, the rapper gets an average of 24,000 Likes per day.

His popularity on Twitter, though, is far less. With only 12 million followers (that's right, only 12 million), he is still far behind Lady Gaga's 28 million. For some reason though, I don't think the bleach-blonde rapper from Detroit cares much about that.
