Celtic will look to repeat their Champions League performance from last season when they take on AC Milan on Wednesday.
Celtic was a surprise round of 16 contestant in 2012-13 after taking down Barcelona in the group stage and earning second place behind the Spanish giants in Group G. This season, Celtic faces a more difficult task as they must not only take down Barcelona once more but must also face Ajax Amsterdam and a potent AC Milan side that features dangerous forward Mario Balotelli.
The Scottish side has already stated its interest in taking Balotelli out of the game mentally in order to improve their chances at earning a win or draw on Wednesday.
"You would try and upset him because on his night he is a handful for anyone," Celtic defender John Kennedy said, according to ESPN. Kennedy will likely be tasked with stopping the Italian forward. "He has been (upset) in the past but it's important you don't get too caught up in trying to upset someone else."
He added that the team needed to focus on the larger picture rather than honing in on just the one-on-one battle.
"You have to remember that you've got a job to do in the team. You could get dragged into a one-on-one war with a player to upset him and then forget about the job you have got in the team," he said. "It's important players stick to their jobs, whatever the manager asks them to carry out. If you can stop Milan playing and nick a chance or two then you might just get a result."
Prediction: Milan is home and should have the upper-hand. Expect a 2-1 win from the Italian side.
