The Boston Bruins will take on the Washington Capitals in a preseason game on Tuesday.

The Bruins are coming off a dominant 6-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens that saw the team score four goals on six power play opportunities. Moreover, Jarome Iginla lit the lamp twice in his Bruins preseason debut; the performance promises to lead to a great year for the former Calgary Flame and Pittsburgh Penguin.

The game was the first for the Bruins this preseason. The team has yet to make any cuts, but two players making strong cases for themselves are Reilly Smith and Matt Fraser; both youngsters came over to Boston alongside Loui Eriksson in the trade that sent Tyler Seguin to Dallas.

"When you look at both those players, I've said it before, Matt Fraser is known as a real high-end, skilled player and you can see he has really good skills, shoots the puck well and so does Smith," said Boston Coach Claude Julien, according to the team's official website. "Smith's got more grit to his game, but also goes hard to the net and can shoot the puck well also. So both of those guys I think are great acquisitions."

Boston will take on a Washington side that has played two games this preseason and has won both. In their opener, the Capitals took down Winnipeg 4-3 in the shootout. On Monday, the Caps took on the Philadelphia Flyers and fell behind 3-2 in the third period after holding a 2-0 lead. Fortunately Washington rallied and wound up winning the game in the shootout.
