Team USA's volleyball team successfully advanced to Saturday's final after defeating South Korea in a very close game yesterday, but managed to win in straight sets, 3-0.
The USA vs. Brazil final is set after the South American country comfortably defeated Japan 3-0 victory on Thursday.
"It's game time and I feel great, and I don't care how I feel after Saturday," said USA Captain Lindsey Berg.
"It's great to be in this position," said teammate Christa Harmotto. "It's a position we've worked for four years, and we're exactly where we want to be."
The USA vs. Brazil matchup is a rematch of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics final. The Americans lost to Brazil 3-1. Since then, Team USA has been preparing to avenge their gold medal loss. A recap of the 2008 Brazil vs. USA final can be viewed here.
An early preview of the Brazil vs. USA took place in late July during a preliminary game. The Americans defeated Brazil 3-1. Credit for the victory went to Destinee Hooker, making her Olympic debut in London.
"[Hooker] really coming into a different game. She's not only a good hitter now, she blocks and she's playing some defense," said Berg to NBCOlympics. "She's really developed her game to be a volleyball player instead of just this great athlete that jumps high and hits the ball hard."
The odds of Team USA winning is likely according to bookies, but they predict it to be a close game.
"It's hard not to imagine that because this team is a gold medal-winning team," said Berg, competing in her third Olympics. "Of course I've dreamed it and it was a beautiful dream."
Team USA is currently the top ranked volleyball team by volleyball's international governing body.
