Carolina Panthers (0-1) at Buffalo Bills (0-1)
Rookie coach Doug Marrone and rookie QB E.J. Manuel pushed the New England Patriots to the limit but Marrone opted to pass the ball on third-and-10 instead of eating the clock with a run play, with Manuel tossing a short four-yard pass that gave Tom Brady enough time to set up the Patriots for a game-winning field goal. Carolina QB Cam Newton had rough opening weekend going 16-of-23 for a career-low 125 yards and a touchdown, with 38 yards on five rushing attempts in their loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
