McKinley High has a new mean girl at the top at of the cheerleading pyramid.
"Glee's" fifth season will feature a new spiteful Cheerio, played by Erinn Westbrook. TVLine reports that Westbrook will play the recurring role of Bree, the nasty new girl who will most likely take aim at the New Directioners.
Westbrook has appeared in the syndicated sitcom "Mr. Box Office," Nick at Nite's "See Dad Run" and episodes of "Twisted" and "Switched at Birth."
But the "Glee" characters won't let one rude cheerleader get them down. Images were released from "Glee's" two-part Beatles tribute season opener that shows the cast happily belting out classic tunes from the Fab Four. The photos show Blaine (Darren Criss) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) going Sgt. Pepper style, singing outside while the McKinley High marching band backs them up. The photos also show Unique, Kitty, Artie, Ryder and Marley back in action.
The first half of the season premiere episode is titled "Love, Love, Love."
TVLine reported the two-parter's synopsis: "The members of New Directions are back in action and take on their biggest assignment yet: the Beatles! As Will enlists the kids to pay homage to the classic song catalog from the Fab Four, Blaine and Kurt attempt to answer questions about their future together. Meanwhile, Rachel's New York ambitions take an unexpected turn in the all-new 'Love, Love, Love' season premiere episode of Glee."
According to the photos, fans can expect a happy outcome from last season's Blaine and Kurt proposal cliffhanger. The new season will also focus on Rachel (Lea Michele) and Santana's (Naya Rivera) new life in the Big Apple. Demi Lovato will play Dani, Rachel and Santana's artist friend and Santana's new love interest. Adam Lambert will also appear in the new season to sing with Demi Lovato, and most likely Rachel and Santana as well. Pheobe Strole ("Hamlet Two," "Spring Awakening") has also joined the cast as an older girl who will be wooed by Sam (Chord Overstreet). In addition, the fifth season will include a tearful goodbye episode for the late Cory Monteith and his character, Finn Hudson. The episode is titled "The Quarterback," which is the position Finn played on the high school football team. Monteith passed away this July at the age of 31 due to a drug and alcohol overdose. The episode will include a PSA about drug and alcohol abuse. The episode will include a heart-wrenching farewell song by Lea Michele, Monteith's on-screen and real-life girlfriend, at the very end of the episode. Michele will wear a "Finn" necklace for tribute episode, similar to the "Cory" necklace that she's often seen wearing as a testament to her late boyfriend. "Glee's" fifth season premieres on Thursday, September 26 on Fox.
