With the introduction of the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s, Apple has removed another iPhone from their official website.
Apple held an event on Sept. 10 in California where the iPhone 5s and the low-cost iPhone 5c were formally announced.
At the expense of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, Apple has removed the current iPhone 5 from their official website.

It isn't the first time the Cupertino-based organization removed an item after less than a year on sale.
In 2012, Apple removed the third-generation iPad (iPad 3) following the Oct. 23 event for the iPad mini and iPad with Retina Display (iPad 4). The iPad 2, however, remained on sale.
The iPhone 5c could be the direct replacement for the iPhone 5. The links directing for the iPhone 5 has become nonexistent while inserting "https://store.apple.com/us/buy-iphone/iphone5" transfers to the iPhone 5c and its offerings.
Regardless of Apple's removal of the iPhone 5, the smartphone will receive the latest mobile operating system, iOS 7.
During the Sept. 10 event, Apple executives confirmed iOS 7 will start its rollout on Sept. 18, which is two days before the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c's sale date.
The iOS 7 will also be available, for free, for the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad mini and the fifth generation of the iPod touch.
