On the upcoming season of "Hawaii Five-0," there may be some trouble in paradise. Showrunner Peter M. Lenkov told TVLine that Catherine (Michelle Borth) and Steve's (Alex O'Loughlin) relationship may go through some rocky terrain.

Lenkov said that Catherine will be "going through a life change" when she leaves the Navy to work for her ex's private security company. Although Catherine made the change with Steve's blessing, Steve may end up resenting the arrangement.

"McGarrett, not being the jealous type, is going to insist that she take the job - and he's going to end up regretting that," Lenkov said. "You'll see McGarrett a little vulnerable, which is fun."

Next season of the tropical cop drama will also be adding some guest stars into the mix.  Access Hollywood reported that Daryl Hannah will be appearing in an upcoming episode of the series to play a local realtor who may not exactly go by the book. It is also reported that her character will be a 'cougar,' and will strike up a love connection with a younger man.

The revival of the classic show will also feature a guest character from the original series, which aired from 1968 through 1980. According to TV Fanatic, Chi McBride will resurrect the character that was made famous on the original show in the 1970s: Captain Lou Grover.

The new season will also feature Melanie Griffith as Danny "Danno" Williams' (Scott Caan) mother. According to WENN, Griffith, 56, was approached by Caan to consider playing his character's mother. Griffith loved the idea, and said that she hopes the role will become a recurring part. "I did a play with him (Caan) last summer and he's so cool. I adore him," Griffith said.

In addition to Griffith and McBride, E! Online reports that "Hawaii Five-0" has added other stars to its list of cameos for next season: Nick Jonas, Carol Burnett, Tim Daly, Jorge Garcia, Terry O'Quinn, Rebecca De Mornay, Taryn Manning, Rumer Willis and Henry Ian Cusick.

CBS recently released the official synopsis for the season premiere:

"After McGarrett and Wo Fat narrowly escape from maximum security, gunmen storm Five-0 headquarters, compromising Kono and Adam's secret location in Hong Kong and forcing McGarrett to break the law and turn on his own in order to find a kidnapped Catherine."

The fourth season of "Hawaii Five-0" will air on CBS on Friday, September 27.

*Correction: The original version of this article stated that actor Chi McBride was resurrecting a character from the original series that he made popular. McBride did not appear in the original series.*
