The HTC One Max is one of the more mysterious devices set to appear this year. HTC also had a device rumored for release called the T6, supposedly a phablet, but now a new leak suggests that the HTC One Max and the T6 are one in the same, and HTC is ready to release the smartphone sooner rather than later.

This new leak comes from the infamous evleaks, who tweeted the news out to his followers. "HTC One max confirmed as retail name of the T6," said the smartphone insider in an official statement. This is exciting news for users, as it means that instead of having two different phablets splitting HTC's and the user-base's attentions, the HTC One Max will be the sole focus.

While this is welcome news for HTC users, there is still some mystery surrounding the HTC One Max. Many tech fans were expecting the device to be revealed during the IFA event in Berlin Germany in early September, but the device was a no show. The device is rumored for a September release date, but nothing has been confirmed by HTC. Another big question mark remains if the device will feature a fingerprint sensor. Rumored photos have gone back-and-forth on the feature. One set of photos will show a fingerprint sensor on the device, while another set will show the device without the feature, and then a brand new set of photos will include the fingerprint scanner again. It will be interesting to see if ultimately the device will have the security feature.

As for the specs for the HTC One, it is expected that the device will run on Android 4.3, in addition to HTC's Sense 5.5 running alongside of the operating system. The phablet will have a huge 5.9-inch full-HD display, with the resolution coming in at 1080x1920 pixels. A quad-core Snapdragon processor will run the device, with the tech running at 2.3GHz with 2GB of RAM available for powering the device. The device will have two different cameras, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera in addition to the 4MP UltraPixel camera on the back for taking photos and videos.
