The two-hour season premiere of "Grey's Anatomy" will take viewers into the eye of the storm.
According to TVLine, the "Grey's" season premiere promo shows a dark beginning for the medical staff as they continue to ride out a major storm. The beginning of the promo shows a truck falling to its side after being slammed by torrential rain. The promo also features Cristina (Sandra Oh) laying down the law to Bailey (Chandra Wilson), as well as Owen (Kevin McKidd) saying these words: "Time of death, 15:56."
Fans can only speculate as to who dies in the electrifying season opener.
Season 10 also promises to feature more drama from Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Sarah Drew). Last season, April confessed her love to Jackson, but Jackson was not very receptive to her emotional declaration.
Showrunner Shonda Rhimes told TVLine that Jackson and April are in very different places, and Jackson is still hurt over April leaving him. "He's [Jackson] been very patient, and she's the one who sort of walked away from him. And when the finale happened, he was feeling kind of 'done,' so her declaration is definitely going to have interesting repercussions," Rhimes said. "She's engaged to somebody else, and he's with somebody else, and it's not as if either of them is behaving, I would say, in the most mature manner. They've definitely got challenging times ahead."
One pair that will definitely be romantically involved is Alex (Justin Chambers) and Jo (Camilla Luddington).
Camilla Luddington shared her thoughts about the relationship at the Television Critics Association Awards. "They are going to be exploring their relationship this season," Luddington said. "I don't trust 'Grey's' make it all go perfectly, but I do know they are crazy about each other and in love."
A big change next season will be the exit of Sandra Oh, who plays Dr. Cristina Yang. Yang has had a complicated relationship with Dr. Owen Hunt (McKidd). Now that Yang's character will be making a permanent exit, fans are hoping for Hunt to finally have a successful relationship.
Rhimes commented on Yang and Owen to Entertainment Weekly. "I would love for Owen to be happy," Rhimes said. "I think Owen has been in love with a very complicated woman. And that's what happens. Sometimes women are in love with complicated men and they get thrown around, but in this situation, Owen is in love with a complicated woman who prefers her genius to almost anything else and that is complex."
Patrick Dempsey may also be considering leaving his "McDreamy" character behind, the Huffington Post reports.
"I think it depends on renegotiations, quite honestly," Dempsey admitted to David Letterman on "The Late Show". "I could stay, I may go, who knows."
Dempsey, an avid race car driver, and has been shifting his main focus to the fast-paced sport.
