Eminem has not disappointed fans with the release of his new single "Berzerk," which has sold 362,000 copies as of Wednesday.
"Berzerk" is the first single released from the rap icon's eighth studio album, "MMLP2," which stands for "Marshall Mathers LP 2" and is scheduled to drop on Nov. 5. The song, which was produced by Rick Rubin, was teased in a commercial for Dr. Dre's Beats by Dre that aired during MTV's Video Music Awards on Aug. 25.
The song, which uses samples from the Beastie Boys and Billy Squier, is number also No. 2 on Billboard's Digital Songs chart right behind Katy Perry's "Roar," reports Rolling Stone.
"Berzerk" came in at No. 3 on the Hot 100 and ranks as No. 1 on Billboard's Rap Songs chart. The 1980-ish track is Eminem's 15th Hot 100 top 10 hit.
Slim Shady experienced similar success when he dropped "Not Afraid," the first single from his LP "Recovery," in 2010. The smash hit also sold 379,000 downloads in its first week and premiered at No. 1 on the Digital Songs chart. "Recovery" won a slew of awards and sold more than 5.7 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling album of 2010. The album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and featured the smash hit "Love the Way You Lie" with Rihanna, which topped the Hot 100 for seven consecutive weeks
There's also speculation that Marshall Mathers may treat fans by going on tour in Australia. According to the Herald Sun, a big-name promoter named Paul Dainty will announce a slew of Australian stadium tours featuring Eminem as the headliner from February through March 2014. However, no exact dates have been confirmed yet.
