North America will finally have the opportunity to purchase the special Nintendo 3DS XL models for "Pokémon X and Y."
Two models of the Nintendo 3DS XL handset console has been confirmed to be released in the U.S. starting Sept. 27.

The Nintendo 3DS XL models feature the two new legendary Pokémon and mascots for "Pokémon X and Y," Xerneas and Yveltal. The two legendary Pokémon will be featured on both models of the handset console, which will be available in blue and red models.
The "Pokémon X and Y"-themed Nintendo 3DS XL will have a suggested retail price of $199.99.
The confirmations of the new Nintendo 3DS XL handset consoles come as new information about the sixth-generation Pokémon video games were released this week.
As Latinos Post reported, during a "Pokémon Direct" presentation, "Pokémon X and Y" Director Junichi Masuda confirmed the first generation's Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle will be selectable pocket monsters in the new game. The three Kanto starter Pokémon will be able to Mega Evolve once evolving to their final evolutions of Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise, respectively.

In addition to the Kanto starter news, it has been revealed that a cloud service will be introduced. Known as "Pokémon Bank," the player can store up to 3,000 Pokémon via the Internet. Pokémon Bank, however, will have an annual fee and will play a role in transferring Pokémon from the fifth-generation games to "Pokémon X and Y."
"Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" will be released in North America, Europe, Japan and Australia on Oct. 12 for the Nintendo 3DS and the recently announced Nintendo 2DS. The games have a suggested retail price of $39.99, each.
