The Champions League draw has taken place and the teams have been assigned.

In Group A is Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Real Sociedad, and Bayer Leverkusen. In Group B is Real Madrid, Juventus, Galatasaray, and Copenhagen. Group C became home to Benfica, Paris Saint-Germain, Olympiakos, and Anderlecht, while Group D features defending Champion Bayern Munich, CSKA Moscow, Manchester City, and Viktoria Plzen.

Chelsea's Group E partners include Schalke 04, FC Basel, and Steaua Bucharest; Chelsea took down both teams during last year's Europa League championship run.

Group F wound up being the proverbial "Group of Death" and features Napoli, Arsenal, last year's runner-up Borussia Dortmund, and Marseille. Group G houses Porto, Atletico Madrid, Zenit St. Petersburg, and tournament debutantes Austria Vienna. The final Group of the competition includes Barcelona, AC Milan, Ajax Amsterdam, and underdog Celtic.

Group A is a solid draw for Manchester United and will likely place the spotlight on the race for second. Group B will feature a tough battle for Madrid and Juventus, especially with last year's quarterfinalist Galatasaray in the mix while Group C looks wide open. Group D should be a cakewalk for Munich but the big story here will be whether Manchester City can finally make it out of the group. They have a favorable draw and should make it to second. Group E also sees Chelsea as the runaway favorite. Group F will be the most intriguing, especially with Arsenal fighting for its life. Group G is another wide open group while H could provide some high drama considering the erratic form of AC Milan last year.
