Tuesday was a good day for Samsung watchers. On the same day that the executive vice president of Samsung mobile confirmed that the Samsung Unpacked 2013: Episode 2 event on Sept. 4 will feature the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, several photos of the phablet leaked online, confirming how large the screen is.

The confirmation came from the highest level. Lee Young-hee, the executive vice president of Samsung's mobile business, confirmed to Korean media that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be unveiled on Sept. 4, also saying that the Galaxy Gear will run Android and will indeed not have a flexible display.

While that's all the official confirmation we got, there are still plenty of leaks and rumors to fill out the picture of the two devices. ETradeSupply, which has leaked early photos of other devices, published some photos of the Galaxy Note 3's screen Tuesday, confirming the 5.68-inch display rumor.

From the photos, it looks a lot like the Samsung Galaxy S4 (which is not surprising) and has incredibly thin 2.2mm bezels on the sides compared to the Galaxy Note 2. As we previously discussed at Latinos Post Tech, that's probably so Samsung can pump up the display size a little, without changing the overall dimensions of the device drastically.

The Galaxy Note 3 is expected to have a 1080p resolution on the 5.68-inch display, run on a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor at first. Later, after some technical issues are resolved, expect to see the octa-core Exynos 5420 processor running some models of the Note 3. The Galaxy Note 3 will come with 3GB of RAM if rumors are correct, 32GB of internal storage and a microSD slot, and will run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean right out of the box. These are still just rumored specs, but we will have confirmation very soon as Samsung will definitely unveil the Galaxy Gear and Note 3 next week.
