It’s a dirty trick. Get the viewers desperately hooked just weeks before the series comes to an end. “Dexter” is currently on the tail end of its ninth and final season, and things are getting interesting. In last week’s episode, fans finally learned the coveted identity of the Brain Surgeon, one of the most formidable foes Dexter has even pinned up against. Now with only two episodes remaining before the series finale, he has to pull out all the stops in order to bring him to justice, Dexter style.
On Sunday’s episode, Dexter told Dr. Vogel that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Hannah, regardless of Dr. Vogel’s pessimistic outlook. Dr. Vogel then goes on to admit that one of her sons, Daniel, was a psychopath and had to attend a mental institution, where he died. But a clever and cunning Dexter believes that her son faked his death and could now be living by the alias of the dreaded Brain Surgeon.
Nothing is conclusive, however episode 10, titled "Goodbye Miami," will hopefully shed more light on the curious discovery. And there’s even more on the docket. As the official Showtime synopsis of next week’s episode reads, “Dexter enlists Dr. Vogel’s help to lure the Brain Surgeon in order to get him on the table. Later, an important person in Dexter’s life is murdered in front of his eyes.”
While the most enticing news is that of a potential murder, Deb and Quinn will also shake things up as the finally link up and lock lips. Dexter decides to leave Miami Metro and tells Angel, who then enlists the guys to throw a going away party for Dexter at Angel’s bar.
So where’s Dr. Vogel? She takes a knife to the throat and is likely the murder that Dexter witnesses with his own eyes. The Brain Surgeon case just got a lot more interesting.
