Viewers across the globe are still picking their jaws up off the floor. Miley Cyrus’s twerktastic performance blew our minds. Fans are still unsure of what to make of it. Was it success? Or a complete flop? While many were disgusted by her nude two piece and unsavory tongue out expression that has become a staple of her look, perhaps those were the young singer’s intentions all alone. She wants to shed her Hannah Montana image and shock the world, and that’s exactly what she’s done. Although she may have compromised her moral integrity, she couldn’t care less. All eyes are on her, just in time for her new album, which is now just a month and a half away.

As the world anxiously awaits one of the most anticipated albums of the year, Cyrus continues to fuel the excitement in the wake of her outrageous performance. The star has just released the official artwork for her upcoming album, BANGERZ, as well as a brand new single. The track, titled “Wrecking Ball,” is a welcomed breath of fresh air. Cyrus finally steps back from her overcharged overpartying alter ego to sing about love and heartbreak.

“I came in like a wrecking ball/I never hit so hard in love/All I wanted was to break your wall/All you ever did was break me/Yeah you wreck me,” she sings in the modern pop ballad. The tune showcases her raw talent. Despite her increasingly worrisome antics, she reminds fans of how she go to where she is. She’s a real singer. She’s not just a face. She’s got pipes. Why can’t we get more of this Miley? Listen to her new single below.

So perhaps her new single will help save some face after her twerking session with Robin Thicke last night at the MTV VMA awards. What are Cyrus's father and Thicke’s beautiful wife thinking about this morning as the world revels in the aftermath of the astonishing performance?Happy thoughts. Just happy thoughts.
