Jose Mourinho has always been one to incite controversy and he has already started to create tension ahead of Saturday's match against Bayern Munich in the European Super Cup.

The Chelsea manager noted that Bayern Munich was not as good a team under new coach Pep Guardiola.

"It was Jupp Heynckes's Bayern that was the best team in Europe," he said, according to Goal.com."Now they have a new coach and new players - and I'm not sure if they are still as good."

Mourinho's dismissal of Munich should come as no surprise as the Portuguese coach had a great deal of animosity with Guardiola during his time in the Spanish League. Mourinho pinched Barcelona assistant coach Tito Vilanova during a match feud and ultimately toppled Guardiola's Barcelona and interrupted a run of three straight Spanish League titles.

The match means a great deal for Bayern Munich as it gives the team a chance to avenge its Champions League loss to the Blues in 2011-12.

"We do have a small score to settle, even if we can't completely wipe away the memory of losing the Champions League final," Muller said in an interview with Bayern's official site. "You don't always reach the Super Cup final, so we'll do everything we can to win the trophy."

Muller went on to compliment his new coach.

"Pep Guardiola has made a few changes to our team tactics but not really to us as individuals," he said. "Every player has his strengths and weaknesses. If Arjen [Robben] is out on the right, he does things differently compared to me in the same position."
