The Verizon Wireless-exclusive Lumia 822 accounted for 18 percent of the AdDuplex statistics, 2 percent ahead of the Lumia 920's 16 percent.

The HTC 8X placed third with 13 percent. The HTC 8X is one of two HTC devices that managed to rank in the top 10 as the HTC Radar finished 10th with 3 percent.

The Nokia Lumia smartphones continued to dominate the AdDuplex figures with the Lumia 521 taking fourth place with 8 percent. The T-Mobile-exclusive smartphone increased its share, receiving 5 percent last month. The Lumia 521's share tied the Lumia 900 as well.

"It will be interesting to see if AT&T's Lumia 520 and Lumia 1020 break into the top 10 next month," noted AdDuplex.

In terms of the top mobile carrier for Windows Phone 8 smartphones, Verizon Wireless claimed the top spot with 39 percent ahead of AT&T's 34 percent. T-Mobile finished third with 19 percent, while "other" accounted for the remaining 8 percent.

"Seeing the progress of Lumia 521 it's no surprise that T-Mobile is the biggest gainer this month, when we take a look at US carriers (15 percent to 19 percent)," AdDuplex stated. "Both Verizon and AT&T have dropped by few percent, but the status quo is preserved for now."
