It looks like the One Direction fans anxiously waiting for the British boy band to drop their new studio album won't be disappointed!
Simon Cowell recently revealed that the group has written more of the songs on their upcoming record. Initially he was skeptical, but after hearing the tunes, he says their writing was "absolutely brilliant."
"A lot of the tracks have been written by the guys this year and I'm always kind of nervous about that, but I have to tell you, their writing is absolutely brilliant," said Cowell to Will Best, according to Sugarscape.com.
Cowell, who signed 1D to his record label and mentored the boys, added that the tracks on the album are "Really, really good in so much that some of them are going to be singles, but really, really cool records, so they feel much more part of this album, I think."
1D singer Niall Horan also revealed that the next One Direction album will be "cooler" than the other albums the group has released during an interview with GQ magazine.
"We don't actually have a specific date for the new album, but on the road we will have more time to record and try things out. It'll be heavier. A bit rockier. A bit cooler."
Last week, their single from their upcoming LP "Just Can't Let Her Go," leaked on the Internet. The up-tempo party anthem features a stomping beat and rocking melody in the chorus, and uses rich harmonies. It also has a more mature message as the lyrics are about a woman who treats her boyfriend poorly, however, because she is undeniably sexy and desirable, her boyfriend just can't seem to let her loose.
The band--Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson--are scheduled to drop their third studio album later this on year, following their 2012 record, "Take Me Home."
