Fresh off her most recent, 90-day stint in rehab, Lindsay Lohan opened up in a candid interview with Oprah Winfrey confessing that she subconsciously wanted to go to jail to escape her chaotic lifestyle and "find some peace."
In the interview, which was shot four days after Lohan was released from rehab, the 27-year-old actress explained that her trip behind bars was a relief.
"At that point, being in my addiction and having all the chaos around me that I was so comfortable with, I somewhere inside knew and kind of wanted to go to jail. That was subconsciously being put out there by my actions -- or lack thereof," said Lohan during her "Oprah's Next Chapter" interview which aired Sunday, according to the LA Times.
"I think it was just to find some peace and just have no choice but to just sit and be," she added.
The Queen of Talk also asked the "Freaky Friday" star about her 84-day jail sentence in 2007 and how her rehab stay was different this time around.
"I wasn't fighting at all," Lohan explained. "I just let go and was able to just be like 'OK you probably do know what's best,' because my idea of doing what's best for me has not worked in the past.'"
"I came into it just really willing, really craving more spirituality. Really open and ready to get really honest."
When Winfrey grilled the freckled-face beauty about her addictions, Lohan admitted that she is an addict and that alcohol is her drug of choice.
"That, in the past, was a gateway to other things for me," she said, detailing her past cocaine use - which she'd only done 10 or 15 times. "It allowed me to drink more. I think that's why I did it," she said, according to the NY Daily News.
The "Canyons" actress assured the talk queen that she's done with hard drugs and riotous living, and that now she's on nothing but vitamins and Nexium for her acid reflux.
