Gareth Bale refuses to talk about the transfer to Real Madrid.
In arguably the biggest saga of the summer transfer window, Bale is reportedly interested in a move to Real Madrid, but will not discuss it with the media.
"I am sorry, I am," he reportedly told AS' man. "This is not the moment to talk."
Marca also quotes him as making a similar statement: "I cannot say anything now."
Bale and his currently club Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly had a falling out as the player has not trained with the team during preseason and has supposedly told executives that he wants to leave for Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants have pursued the Welshman all summer and have continually increased their monetary offers. However, the price has stopped at 100 million euros; Tottenham's reported desire to obtain a player in addition to the money has seemingly stalled negotiations.
Madrid's top members, including President Florentino Perez and Coach Carlo Ancelotti, have recently made comments hinting at the team's impatience and preparedness to move away from the negotiation table.
"Why talk about Bale when Jesé [Rodríguez] and [Alvaro] Morata have both played so well. They are young but incredibly talented," Ancelotti recently said, according to the Telegraph.
"We talk with lots of people and we will see what happens in all our negotiations, with this player [Bale] and with others," Madrid President Florentino Perez said a few weeks ago, according to ESPN. "We do not usually talk about other players out of respect to the player, the club and the president, with whom I made a good friendship last season during the signing of Luka Modric.
"If I do not talk about names, I do not talk about money. [But] €100 million seems a lot to me, a lot for everything. I do not talk about players nor money because I should not and cannot, out of respect."
Manchester United is also reportedly interested in snatching up Bale and could ultimately add him if Madrid's negotiations fall apart.
