Christian Bale was offered $50 million to return to the character of Batman in "Justice League."

According to a new E-Book entiled "Beyond Batman: The Unauthorized True Story of Christian Bale and His Dark Knight Dilemma," Warner Bros. offered Bale $50 million to reprise the role of Bruce Wayne in "Justice League." However, the book did not give details on whether the studio approached him for the new "Batman vs. Superman."

Bale recently stated that he was not interesting in returning to the character. He said, "We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three [Batman films]. That's enough. Let's not get greedy ... Chris [Nolan] always said he wanted to make it one film at a time. And we ended up sitting there looking at each other, saying 'We're about to make the third.' We never really knew if we were going to get to be there, but if that was how it was going to be, this was where it should end as well."

He added that he was never contacted about "Justice League." He explained, "I have no information, no knowledge about anything. I've literally not had a conversation with a living soul. I understand that they may be making a Justice League movie, that's it. It's a torch that should be handed from one actor to another. So I enjoy looking forward to what somebody else will come up with."

Bale will be seen in two films this year. First he will appear in the lead role of "Out of Furance" with Zoe Saldana, and Casey Affleck. He will also portray a con artist in David O. Russell's new film "American Hustle" with Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams.

"Justice League" is slated for 2016 while "Batman vs. Superman" will be released in 2015.
