The second-generation iPad mini is also expected to make its debut later this year, based on sources associated with the tablet's development.
The next 9.7-inch iPad is expected to resemble the iPad mini with a thinner bezel.
Meanwhile, the second-generation iPad mini is likely to double its pixel resolution. According to a Wall Street Journal report, the next iPad mini will likely have Retina Display due to competition from smaller tablets with high-resolution screens, such as the Google Nexus 7, which packs 1,920x1,200 pixels.
In regards to a release date, the Bloomberg report noted it may come "in the last three months of the year."
