Lionel Messi has told reporters that he has no problems with fellow Barcelona teammate Neymar.
Once Neymar's transfer was announced earlier this year, many wondered if the two would be able to play together.
"There's no problem between us; these are things that come out of the press," Messi told reporters about his relationship with the Brazilian. "We get on with each other on and off the pitch and we're getting to know each other little by little...We haven't played much together. But he'll bring a lot of joy to the club, to us and to the people."
Neymar has been adamant that his dream is to help Messi become a better player.
"I feel very comfortable with him," Neymar said about Messi. "He's an idol of mine and I'm so happy to be able to be alongside him. He's a fantastic player and a great person and I just want to help him to continue making the Barca fans happy."
Many Barcelona teammates and coaches believe that the two will work magic together this season.
"I find it hard to believe two great players like Messi and Neymar won't be able to play together. It is not going to be a problem," Barcelona coach Gerardo "Tata" Martino said, according to ESPN a few weeks ago. "If I can't make them play together, it is a deficit on my part as coach."
"Great players bring out the best in each other. I'm certain Neymar will be better alongside Leo and Leo will be better alongside Neymar. We'll try to help him adapt, make him happy and get the best out of him to play like he has done for Brazil," Xavi Hernandez added a few weeks ago, according to ESPN.
