In just a few weeks, fans of Showtime’s hit drama “Homeland” will be able to dive right back into the world of the Central Intelligence Agency. The show, which has been nominated for 11 Emmys this year, will enter its third season in late September and will give fans a view on what life has been like for Brody (Damian Lewis), Carrie (Claire Danes) and Brody’s family after he was forced to go into hiding.

Where Brody is remains unclear but he doesn’t find himself in the best conditions come season three. A new trailer for the season reveals that Brody has gone through a bit of a makeover, sporting a new bald head. The trailer, which you can see below, also shows Brody participating in some questionable situations.

Lewis recently opened up about his character’s situation in the upcoming season and said that he’s in rough shape physically and mentally. “There are points in the season where you will question whether Brody does what to live,” Lewis told Access Hollywood. “Uppermost in his mind is his family, always. But honestly, at this point, if he’s caught, he’s going to the chair.”

The actor added, “There is so much overwhelming evidence against him and there is such a great need for a scapegoat and for the CIA to make a recovery, and for the US president, that fictional president who is there at the White House at the time, to make a recovery [and] bring someone to justice.”

However, Brody won’t be the only one suffering from his forced disappearance. The trailer also shows how hard Carrie and Brody’s family is taking him being away. Carrie is visibly going through a hard time as her fugitive love interest remains away. At one point, fans can see her rocking on her bed as she unleashes a flood of tears. At another point, Saul (Mandy Patinkin) is apologizing to her.

Brody’s young daughter Dana (Morgan Saylor) is also having difficulties adjusting to life without her dad. Dana is seen going through her parent’s old memories until she discovers her dad's prayer rug. How she’ll adjust to resuming life while her dad is on the lam remains to be seen.

“Homeland” returns for season three on September 29 on Showtime.
