Orlando Bloom is rumored to play Batman in the upcoming "Batman vs. Superman" film.
According to the Express a senior source at Warner Bros. said Orlando Bloom would be a great choice for the role. "Orlando looks odds-on to get the part even before our first casting call.
"He would be perfect to play off Henry and I think U.S. audiences would be happy with two Brits as the joint male leads," said the unidentified source, the Express reported.
After the rumor was spread, Los Angeles media analyst Mike Raia noted: "British stars are going to be the toast of Hollywood if Orlando does step up to take over the Batman role. It will mean for the first time ever, Brits will be in the three prime roles of Batman, Superman and Spider-Man and I don't think you'll hear a single American fan complaining."
Bloom is the latest actor rumored to play Bruce Wayne. Previously, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Joe Manganiello and Matthew Goode were rumored for the role.
Bloom is known for his work on "The Lord of the Rings" and the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchises. He will next be seen in "Zulu" and "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug."
"Batman vs, Superman" is currently in pre-production with Zack Snyder set to direct. Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane will reprise their roles from "Man of Steel," while David Goyer will write the script. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder will produce and Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas will serve as executive producers. Warner Bros. will release the movie in 2015.
