Aaron Taylor-Johnson continues to build hype for his involvement in the upcoming "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
The "Kick-Ass 2" star revealed that his wife Sam Taylor-Wood recently bought him an expensive comic-book that featured Quicksilver, the role he is rumored to play.
"In fact my wife just went out and she bought the first ever cover-it's like a really old, vintage [comic]. It's the first time where Quicksilver's ever been on the front cover," he revealed.
According to MTV, the comic book is "X-Men" No. 4 from 1964; the publication notes that it probably cost around $3,000.
There has been no confirmation about Taylor-Johnson's involvement, but the actor has been vocal about the character and meeting with director Joss Whedon.
"I feel really flattered and honored that they came to me for that role," Taylor-Johnson said in an interview a few weeks ago with Collider. "I think he's an interesting character, and we're just gonna keep going into that. I sat down with Joss, I think he's awesome; I sat down with the guys at Marvel and they're also great. I think it'd be interesting."
In another interview with Total Film Taylor-Johnson talked about how he would approach the role and why it interested him.
"There's years - over 50 years - of backstory on him all there to use, and I like doing that. Him and his sister have been abandoned by their parents and their father, and they grew up in Eastern Europe defending and looking out for themselves and each other," said Taylor-Johnson. "His sister really is his guidance - emotionally she's the one who looks after him, and vice versa. He's very overprotective physically - he doesn't want anyone touching her."
"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" is slated to start shooting in early 2014.
