The Xperia i1 Honami from Sony is one of the more intriguing devices that has been in the news recently, as tech users try to figure out the secrets of the heavily rumored smartphone. Now, Sony has released a photo teaser for the device, and may have revealed that the release date for the device.
This photo comes from Digi-Wo (via the Xperia Blog) and the photo is subtitled with the words "September 4, 2013 Berlin". This has lead some to believe that the device will become available on September 4, but more likely this will be the official reveal date for the device, as well as the location for whatever presentation that Sony may be planning to show off the device. The photo also showed the device, which appears to be available in purple. Other than that, the photo does not reveal much about the Honami, except that it looks to have more rounded corners than the Xperia Z, which will help with handling the device.
While this photo appears to have given people a good idea of when to expect more i1 Honami news, if it is a legitimate teaser photo from Sony, there is nothing in the photo that can confirm the specs floating around for the device. Currently, the rumored specs for the device are fairly impressive. The big selling point for the device is the alleged 20 megapixel camera that will be attached to the smartphone's back, with a Sony G-lens and BIONZ image processor to go with the impressive camera. The screen for the device is supposedly a 5-inch Full HD Triluminos display with the X-reality engine, which puts it slightly larger than the display available in the upcoming Motorola Moto X. Hardware for the device is rumored to be a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, with 2GB of RAM available. Internal memory for the Honami is rumored to be 16GB, with room for more coming from the MicroSD card slot.
Other features of the device include Bluetooth 4.0 support, Wi-Fi, and well support for GSM/UMTS/LTE networks. And this being a Xperia device the device is rumored to have dust and water resistance properties to protect the camera, display, and hardware within the device.
