Microsoft has reduced the price of the Surface with Windows 8 Pro 64GB and 128GB tablets.

The 128GB tablet-only device was previously priced at $999, but it has been given a $100 discount. The 128GB Surface with Windows 8 Pro now costs $899.

The 64GB Surface with Windows 8 Pro also has a $100 discount. The 64GB tablet-only model is priced at $799, down from its regular price of $899.

Microsoft is also offering a Surface Pro Bundle, which adds the Office Home and Student 2013, a two-year warranty, Type Cover, INCIPIO Surface Sleeve, and Surface Pro Screen Protector for an additional $309.99. The Surface Pro Bundle was originally priced at $478.96.

The price drop for the Surface with Windows 8 Pro comes as Microsoft previously reduced the price for the Surface with Windows RT.

As Latinos Post reported, on July 15, the Microsoft Store reduced the Surface with Windows RT's price for both 32GB and 64GB models with and without the Touch Cover. The tablet-only 32GB Surface with Windows RT at the Microsoft Store is $349, down from the original $449 price, while the 64GB variant will cost the consumer $449, instead of $599.

Microsoft also revealed it was taking a $900 million charge due to "related to Surface RT inventory adjustments." Columnists have stated the "inventory adjustments" were in fact just unsold tablets of the Surface with Windows RT.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has issued a statement in regards to the sales of the Surface with Windows RT tablet.

"We built a few more devices than we could sell," said Ballmer, via The Verge.

According to The Huffington Post, the $900 million loss equates to approximately 6 million units.
