Fans of Fox's crime solving drama "Bones" will see two familiar faces when the show returns for its ninth season this fall. According to TVLine, Booth and Brennan will reprise their undercover roles of Tony and Roxy for some undercover work.
Actor David Boreanaz (Booth) spilled on the reemergence of Tony and Roxy. "We have undercover work next week and that's always good times," the actor told TV Fanatic. "Tony and Roxy are coming back, we haven't seen them in a while. I know we're going to a couples retreat, I know that."
Co-star Emily Deschanel (Brennan) added in her interview with TVLine, "We get to do sweat lodges, which I have personal experience with."
As for her relationship with Booth in the beginning of the season, Deschanel said, "There's some tension there still. But as I've been saying, we start out in a bad place this season and it's a slow journey to getting back together. [Entering Episode 2] we're in a place that's not great, but it's better than where we started-so at least there's hope there."
The show's showrunner Hart Hanson has already confirmed that Booth and Brennan will in fact tie the knot this season. According to TV Fanatic, Hanson said, "Last year I think our little theme we had for season 8 is 'Is Love Enough?' and this season the answer is 'Yes, it is!' Doesn't mean things go easily but a lot of things that people have been waiting for years will happen in season 9. They are going to get married. That's going to happen."
But before they can get to the much-awaited wedding, Booth and Brennan must first deal with Pelant (Andrew Leeds). However, according to Hanson, Pelant may not be the worst of their problems. "There is another big bad on the horizon. No one's asked me about this yet," Hanson told TV Fanatic. "Pelant, in his own way, uncovers another big bad. Perhaps [Pelant is] not the worst guy who's ever lived."
"Bones" season 9 premiers on Monday, September 16 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
