Aaron Taylor-Johnson has confirmed he has been talking to Joss Whedon about "The Avengers 2."
During a conversation with Collider, the "Kick Ass 2" star said he had spoken to Whedon about the role and was really excited about the project. "I feel really flattered and honored that they came to me for that role," Taylor-Johnson said. "I think he's an interesting character, and we're just gonna keep going into that. I sat down with Joss, I think he's awesome; I sat down with the guys at Marvel and they're also great. I think it'd be interesting."
The actor also told MTV news that he would work with the character and think about a long term contract with Marvel. "I think when it comes around and you're asking about 'Avengers 2′ and Quicksilver and things like that, the thing is to think about that he's an abandoned child. Him and his sister [Scarlet Witch] are abandoned and they live in Eastern Europe. There's more character aspects that I'm interested in than the power aspect," he said.
Taylor-Johnson is currently making the press rounds for "Kick-Ass 2." He will next be seen in Gareth Edwards' "Godzilla," a film he promoted at Comic-Con. The actor recently praised the director for his work on the reboot. "Gareth is such a wicked director, man. He's so modest and humble and he's got such a wicked vision for this, so I'm excited for what they're gonna do," said Taylor-Johnson.
"Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" is currently in pre-production and will star Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Scarlet Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Cobie Soulders. The new movie will start principal photography in late February or early March in 2014 and will shoot in London. Disney will later release "Avengers: Age of Ultron" in 2015.
