The summer heat is setting in. There's no escape. It seeps into our skin and embeds itself in our psyches. It determines everything we do and every decision we make. No matter how we try to hide, whether it's in a dark air-conditioned room or in a cold shower, it finds us. Soon enough, however, the summer will pass and the cool air of fall will whisp in, providing a fresh breathe of life. With the autumn breeze also comes the return of TV's most popular series. So in attempt to distract ourselves from the heavy heat, we look forward and speculate as to what's in store for the fall's best.
"NCIS" has long been a top dog among fall series, and now that it's approaching its 11th season, it's gearing up for yet another thrill ride.
As most fans know and are now lamenting, Cote de Pablo, who plays Ziva on the show, will be parting ways with the 'NCIS' crew. They've been curious as to how the series regular will take leave, hoping that the writers don't take the easy way out and put a bullet between her eyes. Well now a new season 11 logline released by CBS hints that her departure will be masked in emotion and several unexpected twists.
"Former Mossad agent turned NCIS Special Agent Ziva David leaves the team in an emotional episode. Several unexpected twists will occur related to the personal lives of Palmer, McGee and Vance, and the team will face one of the most dangerous adversaries they've ever encountered. Also, this season the series will mark its 250th episode."
Showrunner Gary Glasberg recently spoke with TVLine and informed fans that Ziva's "whole story arc unfolds through the first episode, and then Cote/Ziva plays very prominently in the second one. There's a really significant Tony/Ziva payoff - everything I hope the Tiva fans have been waiting for."
"It gives us some insight into this decision that she's going to make," he added. "It's exciting. And it's romantic."
"NCIS" returns to CBS September 24.
