Mexican actor Jaime Camil and model Heidi Balvanera celebrated their wedding Saturday night in an upscale hotel in Mexico City, after a ten-year relationship.
Among the guests invited to the celebration was telenovela producer Rosy Ocampo, who recalled how, some years ago, the actor claimed that he would never give up on his bachelor status.
"When I used to talk to him and ask him if he would ever marry he said no. But we're definitely very happy because he is finally getting married," Ocampo said when she arrived to the wedding in a small interview with Mexican media.
The couple had already gotten married by the Catholic Church in Mexico City's Basilica De Guadalupe last Monday in a smaller ceremony.
Cami's co-star in "La Fea Más Bella" Angelica Vale was also in attendance accompanied by her husband Otto Padrón and their two eldest daughters. The actress mentioned that she was always sure her friend Jaime would follow her foot steps.
"We are happy that this day has come for them and that they are as happy as we are. Jaime and I have been friends since as long as I can remember. The first time he went out with Heidi, he took her over to my house so you can imagine," the actress said.
The groom's father, controversial Mexican businessman Jaime Camil Garza, simply waved to the press without giving a statement on the occassion. "I'm late," he said before entering the hotel where the wedding took place.
Sofia Castro, Mexico's First Lady's daughter also attended the ceremony but explained that her mother Angelica River could not attend the celebration. It was also revealed during the week that Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto was also invited to the celebration but could not attend the proceedings due to previous engagements.
A great number of stars joined the wedding party during the night including Omar Chaparro, Jesus Ochoa, Dalilah Polanco, Alejandro Fernández, Isabela Camil, Sergio Mayer and Lucero.
Jaime Camil has been a mainstay of Mexican television for the last 15 years, often hosting and appearing on some of the country's most popular talk shows and telenovelas. The actor recently became part of the cast of Eva Longoria's series "Devious Maids," where he plays actress Roselyn Sanchez' husband. In the program, Camil's character psychologically abuses his wife, with whom he has a destructive relationship with.
