Barcelona will take on Valerenga in the preseason on Saturday morning.

The Spanish side lost to Bayern Munich in its first major preseason game on Wednesday, but has renewed stability with the arrival of Gerardo Martino as the new head coach. The Argentine has shown a great deal of optimism about his group and has stated that he plans to improve upon the team's success.

"I think Barca getting this has many great years ahead. My goal is to get the players to know me and trust me and to help form a technical group," the 50-year old manager said.

He also noted that he expects to create a terrific partnership between Lionel Messi and Neymar, a subject rife with speculation this summer.

"I find it hard to believe two great players like Messi and Neymar won't be able to play together. It is not going to be a problem," Martino noted. "If I can't make them play together, it is a deficit on my part as coach."

Barcelona is coming off a season filled with disappointments despite retrieving the Spanish league crown from Real Madrid. The Catalonian side fell to its biggest rival in the Copa del Rey knockout rounds before being embarrassed 7-0 in the Champions league semifinals by Bayern Munich; Barcelona only won one of six knockout stage matches in this year's Champions league. Barca actually won once, lost three times, and drew twice in the six games.

Prediction:  Barcelona wins 5-0.
