Injustice: Gods Among Us continues to roll out new characters. Creative director Ed Boon revealed on Twitter that a sixth playable character will eventually be available for the game, and hinted that the character will be someone fans of the series have been clamoring for since the game's release.
The game already offered four characters as part of its season pass: Lobo, Batgirl, Scorpion, and Zod. Boon revealed at EVO earlier this month that Martian Manhunter would also be included into the game, but separate from the original season pass offer. Now it appears that NetherRealm will be putting out even more content for the game, despite Martian Manhunter not getting a release date yet.
It is unknown who the sixth playable character for the game will be, especially considering the big fan request, Martian Manhunter, has already been fulfilled. The other popular choices from the fan poll Boon took were Zatanna and Red Hood, who were the runaway winners of the poll, which also included characters such as Swamp Thing and Static Shock. Of the two, Boon seems to be indicating to fans that Zatanna is the more likely of the two characters that will be put into the game as DLC.
Injustice: Gods Among Us has proven to be quite popular, and the game has garnered large amounts of critical success to go with the millions of copies the game has sold. The DLC for the game has also proven to be quite popular, as NetherRealm continues to pump out new characters for the game despite only initially promising players four characters in the season pass. NetherRealm has also released multiple skin packs for characters in the game based off popular graphic novels such as "Superman: Red Son" and "Blackest Night."
