Fans of ABC's fantasy drama "Once Upon a Time" are in for a double dose of magic this fall as the show's spinoff series, "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland," starts in October. Little has been revealed about the upcoming new show, but the show's appearance at Comic-Con last week changed all that.

The show, which got an early episode bump last month from its original 13 episode order, added a new cast member late last week. TVLine confirmed that "Lost" alum Naveen Andrews would be joining the cast as the evil genie Jafar. According to series co-creator Edward Kitsis, Jafar will appear in the series premiere as the "very, very, very evil villain" and added that the character will be "very frightening."

Andrews added, "I hope it will be something like you've never seen before."

However, a new character isn't the only thing Comic-Con goers were privy to. According to TVLine, the audience was treated to a preview to the pilot, which connected the show to the original series and introduced the show's main characters. As fans may or may not know, the spinoff series will differ slightly from the mothership series in that it's mission is "to tell within the first season, a complete, close-ended story," according to co-creator Adam Horowitz.

The co-creators promised that by the send of the first season, this particular storyline will be concluded and that all questions will be answered.

So who exactly will the fans get to see this fall? There will be, of course, Alice (Sophie Low), Cyrus (Peter Gadiot), the Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha), Jafar (Naveen Andrews), Red Queen (Emma Rigby) and John Lithgow as the voice of the White Rabbit. However, co-creator Kitsis hinted at the possibility of other characters making appearances.

"I would be disappointed if we didn't see the Queen of Hearts at some point," Kitsis said. While seeing the Mad Hatter (Sebastian Stan) may be a reach this season, Kitsis voiced his desire to have him on the show. "I hear he's going to be here [at Comic-Con] for 20 minutes, and there's a part of me that wants to kidnap him and bring him back to Vancouver."

Kitsis also hinted at the possibility of seeing the March Hare and the Doormouse sometime in the future, TVLine reported.

"Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" premieres Thursday, October 10 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
