The Comic-Con action doesn't stop. Everywhere you look there are cast interviews and behind the scenes sneak peaks into the year's best television series. One series in particular, that's gearing up for only its second season, is already making an incredibly impressive splash at this year's event.
"Arrow" has quickly established itself among other royalty on The CW network and continues to build up the suspense for its second season at the San Diego Comic-Con. For starters, stars Stephen Amell and Emily Bett sat down with Michael Ausiello in TVLine's interview suite to discuss what's on the "Arrow" horizon.
The pair informed fans that they would be in "an emotional and literally different place" as the season kicks off in October. They also teased at an "amped up" Arrow cave and the new cast of DC characters that are set to join for season 2. You can check out the entire interview below.
Amell's character Oliver was a vigilante in season 1, but in new episodes he'll take on more of a hero role.
"You'll see exactly why it's necessary for Oliver to be a hero," said executive producer Marc Guggenheim. "It's all in response to what happened in the season finale." He went on to explain that he hopes season 2 will feel like a sequel to its predecessor as he beefs up the cast with new characters and trinckets for Oliver's lair.
"The stuff to look forward to the most is all the new toys we're going to put on the table," he said. In addition to the new toys, Arrow will also have a brand new, menacing villain to tango with. "Our goal was to come up with someone who was as good an antagonist for Oliver as Malcolm was without being a Malcolm Merlyn clone."
Speaking of new characters, the addition of Caity Lotz to play the recurring role of Dinah Drake confused fans, something that executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has since set straight.
"There's been a bit of misinformation printed out there and what I would say is yes, Caity Lotz is joining the show in a recurring role and we're really excited," Kreisberg said. "She's tremendously talented actress. The character she's playing is really the beginning of the story of the Black Canary."
"The character that Caity is portraying is the beginning of the Black Canary story and we're really excited for the fans to go on the journey with us," he added. "So much of our show is about defying expectations, meeting expectations and exceeding expectations, and we really want our fans to experience the show by watching it and enjoying it and enjoying all the twists and turns and surprises the way we intend."
