It's Comic-Con time. Anything could happen. As behind-the-scenes details are shared on the year's most popular movies, television series and more, excitement and disappointment fill the dry San Diego air. Prior to the event, rumors spread that E. L. James would announce who would play the roles of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey in the upcoming "50 Shades of Grey" movie. Unfortunately, as James previously confirmed, they were nothing but rumors.

Nothing. Fans are left once again to toil in this waking life without an Anastasia or Christian to drool over. They've been teased with rumors and wild speculations, some more pertinent than others, but none of which have been confirmed. Although there are certain names that continue to top fan polls and star in mock trailers, they're only designated fans favorites due to their popularity. James nor director Sam Taylor-Johnson have provided fans with the slightest inkling of who's in contention. Fans are blind. There's no telling where the light at the end of the tunnel lies, but one thing's for sure, fans won't give up until they arrive.

On contender in particular, who has long been a fan favorite since the debut of "Man of Steel," recently opened up about his "50 Shades" candidacy.

"As an actor I don't think it should stop me from doing roles which may be great stories," Henry Cavill said in a recent interview. "I'm very much a storyteller, I enjoy telling stories and if there is a wonderful story to tell than I don't think having played the role of Superman will necessarily stop me from telling that story. The chances are it will very much be a different vehicle than what Superman is, so it won't damage any of that character...because they'll see two very different things on screen."

Sure fans will see two different things on screen, however, aren't Christian Grey and Superman essentially the same person, right?
