Fans of the NBC drama "Parenthood" are eagerly waiting for the show's upcoming fifth season. Viewers will get an extra helping of episodes after NBC ordered a full 22 episodes earlier this year. As fans wait for the new season to arrive, details have been pouring out of the writers' room about what to expect. While most spoilers have dealt with Sarah (Lauren Graham) and her love life, some intel on sister-in-law Kristina (Monica Potter) is finally trickling through.
Earlier this week, actress Monica Potter debuted a new look for the upcoming season. The star tweeted out a photo of her new blonde bob, thanking everyone for their hair suggestions. "Thanks to everyone for your help picking out my new haircut-I really took all your choices to heart and it helped so much!!!" Potter wrote.
Fans will remember that Potter's Kristina rocked several hairstyles (including no hair at all) as she struggled to overcome breast cancer. In a couple of episodes, the cancer-fighting mom even sported a couple of wigs.
In other "Parenthood" news, TV Guide's Adam Bryant teased that there might be wedding bells in the future of one lucky couple. "Look for an on-again-off-again couple to get engaged," Bryant said. During the season four finale, fans spotted young couple Amber (Mae Whitman) and Ryan (Matt Lauria) looking at some engagement rings. Lauria has been tapped to appear in at least half of the season's 22 episodes.
TV Guide also teased, "But the happy couple won't be the only ones facing big changes. After successfully battling breast cancer last season, Kristina-like her sister-in-law Julia-will be diving right back into work, as she starts a run for the mayor's office." New look, new attitude, why not a new job for Kristina as well?
"Parenthood" returns for season five on Thursday, September 26 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
