The official unlocked price is unknown, but the Lumia 1020 has been confirmed to launch with AT&T for an exclusive deal of $299.99 when signing a two-year contract. AT&T, however, will only sell the 32GB model and not the 64GB model as seen with carriers in select European markets.
As Latinos Post reported, Nokia Italy has already acceped pre-orders for the Lumia 1020. Meanwhile, Germany's O2 has confirmed they will carry the 64GB model of the 41-megapixel Lumia 1020.
"We want to take people on a journey from capturing pictures to recording and sharing their lives," said Nokia President and CEO Stephen Elop in a statement ahead of its debut last week. "The Nokia Lumia 1020 will bring new meaning to pictures and continues to strengthen Nokia's leadership in imaging."
The Lumia 1020's features include a 4.5-inch screen with 1,280x768 pixels covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The new Windows Phone 8 device has 32GB of internal storage for 2GB of RAM. The phone's front-facing camera also features 1.2 megapixels and packs a 2,000mAh battery.
AT&T is expected to sell Lumia 1020 starting July 26.
"AT&T has sold more Windows Phones than any other U.S. carrier and we're thrilled to add the Nokia Lumia 1020 to our growing portfolio," said AT&T Devices' Senior Vice President Jeff Bradley. "This smartphone will change the way you think about taking pictures, from its professional camera-like controls to the ability to zoom-in a photo you've taken to discover new details you missed initially."
Bradley added that AT&T was the first carrier to launch the 4G LTE Windows Phone smartphone back with the Lumia 900 and that he "can't think of a better network" to share the capabilities than with the Lumia 1020.
