EVO 2013 has certainly been a busy time for fighting game developers and publishers to announce news about upcoming projects.
One of the biggest pieces of news to come out of the event is about Street Fighter IV and the changes to the game's balance and roster set for early next year.
The game, which was released originally in 2009, will be getting an influx of five new characters, along with some tweaks to make the game more balanced, according to Gamespot. Rolento, Poison, Hugo, and Elena will all be coming to Street FIghter IV, after being included in Street Fighter X Tekken. The fifth character was announced, but not named, with Capcom only saying that that character is someone that has yet to appear in any Street Fighter game. Peter "Combofiend" Rosas, Capcom senior community specialist and a former professional gamer himself, spoke highly of the coming characters and their impact to the game:
"I'm personally excited to be able to use Rolento in SF4...Yes, he was in SFxT, but SF4 and SFxT play very differently, so it'll be a treat to use him against Seth, Hakan, and others that are not in SFxT."
Six new stages will also be put into the game. As for the new balancing patch to the game, Capcom stated that Chun-Li, Dudley, T-Hawk, and Balrog will be improved, while Cammy will get some new downgrades. All this new content will be available to Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 owners for $15. Capcom is also planning a new disk-based version of the game with all previous and future DLC for the game to be released for $39.99 at some point as well, possibly at the same time as this new DLC pack.
Look for this DLC sometime in the spring of 2014.
