When "Revenge" last left fans in its season two finale this spring, Jack (Nick Wechsler) received a huge bombshell confession from Emily (Emily VanCamp) and Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) caught up with her long-lost son Patrick. Although the upcoming season is a ways away, some details have finally emerged.
Season three's premiere doesn't have an air date just yet, but we do know that there will be a five-month time jump once the show starts up again. According to TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich, the time jump will let Jack process Emily's confession and Victoria reconnect with her estranged son.
While Patrick's identity remained a secret at the end of last season, casting for the character has been confirmed. "Emily Owens M.D." vet Justin Hartley nabbed the pivotal role and will be appearing in the show's third season premiere, E! Online reported.
According to E!, the actor will appear in a multi-episode arc starting the season premiere. Hartley's character appeared in the show's finale episode last season, shocking both Victoria and fans alike.
Little is known about Patrick, except that Victoria had him when she was 16 and later abandoned him so she could go to art school in Paris. According to E! Online, when Patrick looked for his mother, she paid him $5 million to stay away.
Hartley's Patrick won't be the only cast change this upcoming season. ABC confirmed that characters Ashley (Ashley Madekwe) and Declan (Connor Paolo) will not return as series regulars. As fans may remember, Paolo's Declan died during the season 2 finale.
E! Online also reported that creator Mike Kelley stepped down as showrunner in April and has been replaced by writer and executive producer Sunil Nayar. According to Deadline, Kelley's departure was due to season length differences with ABC.
"Revenge" season 3 returns this fall to ABC.
