Chick-Fil-A just hosted their ninth annual Cow Appreciation Day on Friday, and what better way to celebrate the event than by giving out free food!
Yes, one of the leading fast food chains in the U.S. has given out thousands of free meals to its loyal customers. But the celebration wasn't like any other—for diners to get free grub from the restaurant, they had to come in their best cow costume.
According to CBS Local Philadelphia, the chicken-specialty food stop gave out free entrées and meals depending on the customer's cow-inspired costume.
Wayne.com noted that chicken lovers who dined at the more than 1,700 of Chick-Fil-A locations in full cow costumes received a full meal that included an entrée, a side dish and a drink. Those who weren't so eager to dress up as a cow while eating, and went more a more subtle cow accessory - a hat, a scarf, bracelet or purse - also received a free entrée.
So far, Chick-Fil-A says their ninth annual Cow Appreciation Day was a big success, even bigger than any of the eight other celebrations.
"Our 9th annual Cow Appreciation Day was our biggest success yet. It was truly our pleasure to give away meals to thousands of loyal fans all across the country," Chick-Fil-A's website noted.
But the celebration doesn't stop there. The dining place is continuing its celebration with their Best Cow Costume Photo Contest. The website allows customers to post their best cow costumes online and people can help decide who will win by voting.
Winners of the Best Cow Costume Photo Contest will win a Chick-Fil-A Home Office Backstage Tour on Oct. 13 to 14, 2013, as well as Chick-Fil-A gift cards and other awesome prizes.
