While "NCIS" embarks on its eleventh season, its off child "NCIS: LA" is just getting its legs. As the show gears up for its fifth season, fans are eager to see if certain characters will resurface or stay formant. Every little detail counts. Any piece of information on the forthcoming season will help fans rest easy, at least for the moment.

One of the show's more prolific and insightful characters, Nate (Peter Cambor) will be making his return to "NCIS: LA" in the fall. In fact, he'll resurface early on in the season, according to TV Line. Nate Getz is an operational psychologist in charge of taking care of the Office of Special Projects agents' psychological health and overall well-being. He's adept at analyzing agents before and after each mission. He plays an integral part the department's integrity and performance, so it makes sense that he'll return in the beginning episodes.

Other details shed light on the faltering relationship between Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and the Chameleon (Christopher Lambert) after the Chameleon blew the top off their undercover operation. Executive producer Shane Brennan elaborates.

"Give him an inch, and he will take everything that you possess - they were well aware of that," he said to TV Guide. "But there was only one person who could pull this off. It was something they had to do."

"Callen knows that there will be a final confrontation, and only one of them will walk away."

Does this mean there will be a final showdown between Callen and the Chameleon? If only one will walk away, what will happen to the other? Fans will have to wait until the series' return to find out.

"NCIS: LA" will return to CBS on Tuesday, September 24 at 9 p.m.
