Fans of the DC Comics fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us will be pleased to know that the rumor of more DLC characters being released for the game, despite the game's season pass for DLC being fulfilled with the release of General Zod, is indeed true. Ed Boon, the creative director for NetherRealm Studios, confirmed the news via Twitter, and revealed when and where the new DLC character will debut.
"5th DLC character for INJUSTICE will be announced (with game-play video) at the EVO tournament this weekend in Las Vegas!" tweeted Boon.
In addition, Boon further hyped the new character's appearance with the revelation that the new character is somebody that fans of the game have been waiting months to play as:
"The EVO Injustice DLC debut video will also feature a new character skin that players have been CLAMORING for MONTHS now!"
This may indicate that fan-favorite Martian Manhunter may be appearing in the game finally, after fans have continued to pledge their support for the character as other characters were released for the game. We will just have to wait and see what new character is added to the game, and if NetherRealm will add more after this fifth character. The previous characters released as DLC for the game were Lobo, Batgirl, Scorpion, and Zod.
Though the season pass for the game has been completed, a game of the year version of the title is in the works according to All Games Beta, so if gamers do not feel like paying full price for the game and its DLC, they can wait to see if this complete edition of the game eventually comes out.
Injustice: Gods Among Us has been a big hit for NetherRealm, who also created the reboot of the Mortal Kombat series. Stay tuned to see which new DC character gets added to the brawler this weekend.
